President’s Day

President’s Day is an annual club competition open to all members, traditionally held on a Saturday afternoon in mid-Summer.

The President’s trophy is awarded each year to the leading man and leading lady on the day.

The competition format is pairs in the form of an American Tournament style event, with different pairs being drawn to play each other across a number of rounds, probably 4 depending on time.

Play starts at 2pm with participants arriving by 1.45pm. The tennis will finish no later than 4.00pm and is followed by trophy presentation and social time to enjoy refreshments and picnic style food, including – of course – strawberries, provided by the club president.
